Emma Isn't The Boss!

Emma would love to be the boss.  Most children would love to be the boss if they could.  Ryan made Emma's breakfast this morning.  He started feeding it to her.  After one bite she said, "No!"  Ryan made her eat at least 20 bites between her crying.  He doesn't want her to get her way and become a picky eater.  He is a very smart daddy.

Erin told me that when they eat dinner, Emma begs for their food.  Ryan didn't like that so he set a blanket down and made Emma sit on it with her toys and books while they ate.  For a week, she would just sit there and scream.  Then she would just cry.  Now when he lays the blanket down, she crawls over to it and plays happily while they eat.  She knows her daddy is boss and means what he says.

When Emma is getting whiny, Ryan just puts her in bed.  He is a good daddy.  He plays with her all the time and hugs and kisses her.  I asked him when he first fell in love with her.  Most dads do when they start responding to them.  He told me as soon as Erin was pregnant with Emma.

Emma is blessed.  Too many children are boss and they suffer.  They never learn self-control and that the world doesn't revolve around them.  They grow up selfish and miserable.  Emma is a happy baby.  She has parents that love each other and love her enough to train her to be self-controlled.

Don't let your children boss you around.  You let them know from a very early age who is boss.  Life will be much easier for them when they grow up.  They will learn to be submissive to their teachers and bosses.  They will be obedient citizens in their society.  We need more children like that in our world.

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger,
but bring them up in the 

discipline and instruction of the Lord.
