When I came across this quote I couldn't help but be reminded of the reasons why I fell in love with my husband. And yet if you were to ask me what they were I couldn't possibly list them all because his ways are countless.
I know we have our marriage challenge on Mondays this month, but if I might add another, it would be this... Grab and pen and paper and over the next few weeks jot down some of the little things he does that make a difference in your life. The things you are grateful for.
We have eight weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, perhaps this would be a good time to start a gratitude journal?
Why? Because gratitude has a powerful affect on our attitude and can change the dynamics of a marriage for good. The more we give strength to positive thoughts, our negative thoughts lose power.
The way he rubs my back at night
That he always finds me the minute he walks in the door for a hug and kiss
The way that he is able to read my mood in a split second
The fact that he wanted to buy me some chocolate tonight to perk me up
That he makes me tea when I'm not expecting it
The fact that he gets up early to spend time with the Lord
The way that he speaks to the children so that they listen the first time
His hilarious sense of humor
The way he holds his guitar
The sound of his voice on the phone
His smell
His listening ear
His sound advice
The way he looks in a dress shirt and tie
The way he holds my hand when he's driving
and my list goes on...
