Info Post

He plays golf every weekend and watches sports on television.  He rarely plays with the children.  She has talked to him about it.  She tells him he is lazy and needs to father their children.  Then she hears the Lord softly whisper to her,
"Be quiet and trust me."

He gambles and drinks a little too much.  He holds a steady job and loves his children.  She quotes Scripture to him about his foolish use of money and drinking too much.  She is constantly angry with him.  Then the Lord whispers to her,
"Be quiet and trust me."

There are so many habits of his that annoy her.  He leaves the toilet seat up.  He leaves the cap off of the toothpaste.  He burps after he eats.  She tells him over and over again how annoying he is and he needs to have better manners.  God softly whispers to her,
"Be quiet and trust me."

Why do we think we can do such a better job at changing our husbands than God?  I think it is interesting that the Bible tells husbands to love their wives and not become bitter towards them. {Colossians 3:19} It must encourage husbands to not become bitter because wives have a great tendency to nag them which can easily lead to bitterness.

One woman commented that she had a friend whose marriage broke up after many years.  She asked the husband why and he said he couldn't take the nagging and high expectations anymore.

Think how much more a husband would be likely to change instead if he had a wife who was joyful and smiled at him often.  Who never nagged or tried to change him.

Let God change your husband.  Tell your concerns to your husband several times and then leave it in God's hands.  Pray earnestly for your husband that you will love him just the way that he is.  Listen to that still small voice that whispers to you,
"Be quiet and trust me."

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives.
I Peter 3:1

In quietness and trust is your strength.
Isaiah 30:15
