Info Post

These were two VERY strong willed children.  Alyssa was definitely the one born with the strongest will in our family and from what I have heard from Jon's dad, he would say Jon was definitely born with a very strong will also.

Alyssa took a lot more discipline, guidance, and talking to than our other three.  I barely had to look at Cassi and she would obey me.  She was a very easy child to raise.  Alyssa received more spankings than the others.  I think Jon received a few of them himself, if I correctly remember stories his father told me.

Thankfully, they both were born with strong parents who loved Jesus and worked as a team and guided those strong wills in positive directions.  Yes, it took a lot of time, consistency, and wisdom from God to raise these two precious people, but we can all say that the time and effort was well worth it.

They have both grown up to be amazing young adults.  They have deep roots in Jesus and understand His transforming work in their lives to make them who they are today.  They sought His will and waited patiently for the spouse God had provided for them and they are SO happy!

The first time you see any evil tendencies in your children, you need to deal with it quickly and forcefully.  Don't allow evil to take any root in the lives of your children.  As they grow up, life will be much easier for them.

So take heart, all of you parents with strong-willed children!  They can turn out beautifully if you never give up.  Be consistent and firm and train them in the ways of God.  Yes, it is exhausting and frustrating at times, but keep on keeping on and with God's power working mightily in you, all things are possible!

You shall teach them to your sons, talking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up.
Deuteronomy 11:19
