Info Post
The other day our facebook group got into a discussion about the book Love and Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs when I posted this quote:

This is not about the husband deserving respect; it is about the wife being willing to treat her husband respectfully without conditions.
~ Love and Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs

Out of the many comments I received, one stood out from the crowd:
When I get upset with my husband I bake him brownies. I get all the frustration out beating the batter by hand and I am able to be obedient to the Word by blessing him and cursing him. It’s really hard for a man to be mean to a woman with a big ole plate of brownies. ~ Jan
Isn't Jan delightful? She cracks me up and inspires me to bake all at the same time!

And so with that in mind I've decided to share a brownie recipe with you.

This one is from Rebecca of Rebecca's Hearth and Home.
Thanks, Rebecca!

One-Bowl Brownies

(This recipe is as good as any boxed brownie mix that we've ever tried without all the extra hydrogenated junk added! Enjoy!)

2 cups sugar (we've actually cut this down to 1 cup and like them just as much)
1 1/3 cup flour
3/4 cup baking cocoa
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup nuts (optional)
2/3 cup olive oil
4 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla

In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt and nuts. Add oil, eggs and vanilla; stir just until moistened. Do not overmix. Spread in a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.

Yield: 2 1/2 dozen.

And...
